2014 NSSF SHOT Show Auction

 On GunBroker.com Yields More Than $ 90,000

In Support of Outdoor Traditions

Las Vegas, NV—Powered by nearly 150,000 “views” and hundreds of bids on GunBroker.com, the 2014 NSSF SHOT Show auction of two historical firearms and a one-of-a-kind engraved knife generated $90,376.00 in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage.

The 2014 auction on GunBroker.com featured a one-of-a-kind Tribute to Henry rifle designer B. Tyler Henry, the first-ever Doug Turnbull Restoration 1911 pistol and a “1 of 1” Buck Knifes 110 Folding Hunter in commemoration of that knife’s 50th anniversary.

When the GunBroker.com gavel sounded on the final afternoon of the SHOT Show, the high bid on the Henry Tribute Rifle was $50,825; the Turnbull 1911 high bid was $36,025.00 and Buck 110 Folding Hunter attracted a high bid of $3,526.00.

The Henry rifle was a presentation grade Original Henry, marking the first production of the Original Henry rifle design in 150 years. The gun was engraved as a tribute to B. Tyler Henry, who designed the iconic rifle in 1860. The engraving featured a likeness of Mr. Henry of the right side of the receiver and a representation of the original factory on the left. The rifle was engraved by the artisans at Baron Engraving. Baron has engraved more SHOT Show firearms than any other engraver or manufacturer.

“We were honored to have this tribute to B. Tyler Henry selected as the 2014 SHOT Show auction rifle and were proud when the bidding reached $50,825 on the final day of the show,” announced Henry Repeating Arms CEO, Anthony Imperato. “We are grateful to NSSF for this opportunity, to GunBroker.com for providing extraordinary bidding activity and, of course, to the high bidder who will be adding this special rifle to his collection,” Imperato said.

Turnbull Manufacturing Company, the iconic restorer of vintage rifles and shotguns, has recently aimed their manufacturing and design skills on the production of high-quality handguns. The SHOT Show Auction handgun was the first Deluxe Model of the new Turnbull 1911Classic and featured Serial Number 1911001.

Turnbull also created an extraordinary TAR-10, AR-platform rifle for the 2013 SHOT Show. That rifle set the record for the SHOT Show auction when it attracted a high bid of $136,024.00.  In two years, the remarkable Turnbull guns have generated more than $172,000 in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage.

The Buck Knives 50th Anniversary Model 110 Folding Hunter created by legendary knife maker David Yellowhorse was the fifth Buck Knife that has been featured as a SHOT Show auction knife.

Buck Knives revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the Model 110 Folding Hunter. The 2014 Buck SHOT Show knife celebrated the 110’s prominence in the hearts and hands of America’s outdoorsmen.

The SHOT Show auction is administered by the Hunting Heritage Trust on behalf of the National Shooting Sports Foundation. The 2014 auction marked the 11th consecutive year that the auction was featured exclusively on GunBroker.com, the world’s largest internet auction site for firearms and related outdoor equipment.  Auction proceeds will benefit programs in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage.
