William L. Fraim Elected Chairman
Of Hunting Heritage Trust
William L. Fraim, Chairman and CEO of the AcuSport Corporation and a recognized leader in the hunting and shooting sports industry, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hunting Heritage Trust.
Fraim has served on the Board of Directors of the Trust since shortly after its founding in 2002 and has been a key supporter of the organization's "Give-A-Day for Years to Come" program which encourages industry employees to participate in efforts to grow and protect our outdoor traditions. He joined the AcuSport Corporation in 1983 and was named Chairman and CEO in 2003 after serving as President for 17 years.
"There are unique challenges to growing a young organization like the Hunting Heritage Trust but there are also special opportunities," Fraim commented. "It's harder in the beginning but the rewards are that much greater when you are successful."
"Building a non-profit charity like the Trust is similar to building a business," Fraim said. "Your first step is to define your product or service and then you have to communicate your unique benefits to potential customers and supporters. I look forward to working with my fellow Trust Board members in advancing the Trust's mission and in energizing our fundraising activities such as our new "Treasures & Traditions" program."
The Heritage Trust's mission is to provide the framework through which the commitment and financial contributions of dedicated hunters and shooters can be channeled into short-term action and long-term endowments in support of innovative programs and strategic actions that will help perpetuate America's hunting and shooting sports heritage. The Trust has awarded nearly a dozen grants in recent years in support of hunting awareness, shooting sports education and related programs.
Arlen Chaney, a retired hunting industry executive and four-year Heritage Trust Board member was elected Vice-Chairman. Douglas Painter, President of the National Shooting Sports Foundation was re-elected Treasurer and Robert Delfay, a management consultant, was re-elected Secretary. Both Painter and Delfay have served on the Trust Board since its founding in 2002.
